Palm Springs has always been one of my favourite places to visit. It has a laid back vibe which is totally my speed but there really is still so much to do and see there. We’ve been a handful of times prior to this trip and we’re still discovered new things!
The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens
One of our first stops was a visit to the Living Desert. I know zoo’s are a touchy subject but I did my research prior to visiting and their commitment to conservation and wildlife rehabilitation is actually amazing. The place was much larger than I expected so be sure to wear good walking shoes, pack water, and snacks!
Moorten Botanical Garden
I’ve wanted to visit this spot for a while now because it’s basically an Instagrammable paradise! I’ve seen this place all over IG and every photo made it look so dreamy and it did not disappoint in person. The garden is family owned and a lot smaller than I thought but every inch of it is filled with beautiful plants and every corner is cuter than the last.
If you decide to visit for photography purposes be prepared to have a little patience with everyone taking photos, but know it’s so worth it for the shot!
Pool Day
We were lucky enough to stay at my Aunt and Uncles place while we were there but unfortunately the complex didn’t allow babies under a certain age in the pool areas. Luckily, a lot of hotels will offer day passes for the pool which was perfect as it was so hot while we were there. We ended up going to the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort as it was close to our place and allowed kids- some pools are 21 and over only. It was Olsons first time at the pool and it was so fun being in the water with him, he absolutely loved it!
Wilma & Frieda’s
One spot we always have to hit up when we’re in PS, besides In N Out, is Wilma & Frieda’s for brunch. They serve lunch but their breakfast/brunch foods are THE best! Unless you go right when they open there’s always a wait but luckily it’s located in an outdoor shopping mall so you can always shop around until you get a table.
Sunnylands Garden & Centre
If you’re a history buff Sunnylands would definitely be the place for you. We just checked out the gardens quickly while we were there (it was too hot out for Olson), otherwise we would have loved to tour the entire Sunnylands property. A place where Presidents like Obama and legends like Frank Sinatra have all stayed. The property looks amazing so hopefully we can take one of their tours next time!
Architecture
Palm Springs is known for their mid-century modern architecture and its honestly so dreamy! We love driving, walking, and biking around some of the neighbourhoods just to check out all the different homes. I don’t have a specific location but if you google ‘Pink Door Palm Springs’ that’s a good starting point!
