20 Things I Love About Summer…

Do you ever wake up and know that you’re going to have a great day? Although I try and remain positive, not all days are sunshine and rainbows however, the other morning I got out of bed and was like: “This is it! today is my day!”. It was super refreshing as this year has been filled with a lot of ups and downs which is just the way life goes sometimes. BUT my happy day lead to me feeling super grateful about life and more specifically- SUMMER! It got me thinking of all the simple things in life during the summer season that bring a smile to my face and I thought I would share some of them with you…

  1. Mid day naps in the sun on the patio
  2. Restaurants start serving lobster rolls! Yaaaas!
  3. No pants! It’s so liberating to wake up and throw on a pair of shorts or a dress. Lately I’ve been living in skater style dresses, like this one from Le Château!
  4. The simple joy of turning the thermostat down to the lowest point possible (if you live in a cold weather climate you know what I’m talking about)
  5. Enjoying and ice cream in your shorts and a tank top instead of a beanie and sweater
  6. Driving with the windows down and the music up
  7. Being able to go for a walk at 8pm and it’s still light out!
  8. Eating every meal outside
  9. It’s finally time for Real Housewives of New York City
  10. Sleeping with the windows open and enjoying the summer breeze and night and waking up to the birds chirping in the morning
  11. Peaches and cherries!
  12. Seeing the neighbours side walk chalk
  13. Straw bag and hats (I stand by the fact that you can never have too many!)
  14. Corn on the cob
  15. Buying my foundation in a darker shade- hello sun kissed skin!
  16. Road trips!
  17. Summer salads- I just had the new citrus avocado salad from Famoso and it was heavenly
  18. When you’re running late and can quickly throw on a pair of flip flops instead of winter boots!
  19. Waking up with the sunrise (I get up at 6am now, which is all thanks to Mr. Sun!)
  20. Spending a full day in your bathing suit
