1.Get Outside
If you live in Canada then you know that we only have a limited time to take full advantage of the summer months! So whenever the sun is shining I always try and make an effort to step outside every day even if it’s only for a few minutes. Henry is a great excuse for me to get outside but even if you don’t have a dog stepping out for a walk around the block will help you clear your mind, take in some fresh air, and de-stress!
2.Read A Book
For some reason reading more and watching less has been on my new years resolution list every year (clearly I need to do something about that!). But whenever I sit down and read my mind gets taken off of my overwhelming to do list and transported to another world. Lately instead of watching TV before bed I’ve been picking up a book. That’s my time to unwind and I actually find that I fall asleep way quicker which is always a bonus!
3.Breath of Fresh Air
If you ever come to my house you’ll notice that I always have a candle burning. I am obsessed with fruity and tropical scents and I find that when I’m working in a space that smells great I’m way more relaxed. I thought candles were the bees knees but recently I was gifted a Nebulizer from Saje which has totally been a game changer. The nebulizer allows you to burn calming essential oils while helping purify the air. I love having this on in my office as well as in our bedroom to set the tone for a relaxing environment.
4.Exercise
When you’re stressed and tired going out for a run or hitting the gym probably sounds like the last thing on your priority list. BUT as we all know exercise releases endorphins that helps put you in a great mood and is actually the perfect way to let off some steam. Josh literally has to drag me to the gym after work but I never regret it and fell so much better. It’s an hour every day where I can put in my headphones and think about nothing else.
